Online Use - Log in
The One Drive is best used by accessing it from a browser (Chrome, Firefox, IE, etc.) Here are the steps for accessing and editing from a browser:
Open your web browser program (Chrome, Firefox,
IE, etc.)

At the top right, click the link “Sign In”
Enter the Sign in user name/email address.
A new page will open and you must put in the password.
Click “Sign in”
You are now at the web portal that reflects the same files as the local one drive files. In the main folder window you can navigate to folders and files. Some office files and be viewed and edited online. Files that can be edited are:
Word files such as .doc or .docx
Excell files such as .exl or .exlx
Power point files such as .ppt
Text files such as .txt
Some files can be viewed but not edited like:
Some files can NOT be viwed or edited such as:
There are many other file formats that can fall into one of these three categories, but the above are the main ones.
Online Use - Office Online
To view or edit files:
Click the file you want to view
It will open in the Corrisponding WebOnline viwer such as WordOnline or Excell online.
If the file can be edited you can look at the row above the document and,
Click on “Edit Document”
Click on “Edit in Word Online” or “Edit in Excell Online”
You can now edit a document much as you would in the Office program.
PLEASE NOTE that Office online does not have the same full functionality of the Office Program so there may be some features you can not do in Office Online
Editing documents in Office Online automatically syncs with Onedrive so you do not need to save a document. You may only want to view below the document for status updates of Saved or Saving.
