iTunes sync
These are instructions on how to sync your music from your Apple computer iTunes Library, to your ipod or ipad. There are a few things to consider:
Device size. If you device is less then your itunes library you have to choose what to sync
updates. Often times you may need to update the software of your ipod or ipad for sync functions to work.
device association. Devices, most often ipods, can only be associated with one computer and/or one itunes account. If you switch computers you may need to wipe all the data off the device. But it will clearly warn you if you have to do this.
Patience. Syncing and updating can take a while, and can also seem like the system is frozen or not responding. It is most likely just working and if you wait a little while when it seems to have frozen, it should catch up with the process it is performing.
To sync music from computer to device:
Plug in the device
Open iTunes
On the left, under devices, Click on “Persons ipod”
Here you can see some of the sync options you may want to change, the defaults are usually acceptable.
At the top, go to the music tab
here you can choose for selective sync playlists or media or just sync all.
Click sync at the bottom, you may need to wait
It is also good to go to the music folder under the device and sync there. To do that you should:
Under your device, Click on “music”
You will need choose where to autofill from. If the target device is larger then then itunes library you can just choose the default named “music,” which has everything in your library.
If the target device is smaller, you need to choose what syncs
Then, click Autofill and be patient.
